Wager Games
is a B2B company creating the social infrastructure that connects the world’s sports bettors.
Clients use Wager Games to deliver social experiences around betting — content betting feed, live streaming, creator-lead chat to improve retention, LTV, and handle for sports betting and DFS apps.
In recent news, Wager scored First Pitch at SBC Americas 2025 (the largest sports betting conference of the year)! The summit featured 400+ exhibitors and sponsors, including major operators like DraftKings, Caesars Digital, and FanDuel.
Social feed redesign
✦
Our social feed plugin is designed to enhance user engagement within sportsbooks and daily fantasy sports (DFS) apps. This plugin integrates short-form video content from a network of verified sports creators and affiliates directly into the betting interface.
By blending social media dynamics with sports betting, we address challenges in user acquisition and retention for betting operators. This approach aligns with the trend of integrating creator-driven content to engage users, similar to strategies seen in platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Shaping the Experience

(Current)
We based our initial designs on Twitter’s
quote retweet and thread UI. Our thinking was to use the ‘quote’ section (top) for the
user’s post (caption, media) and use the ‘tweet’ section (bottom) for the copyable betslip.
We borrowed the ‘reply in thread’ vertical gray line to join the two sections. After some iterations we ended up with a user’s post with a betslip attached below.

We interviewed 15 users on the V0 designs and found some ways to improve it. The focus of this iteration was increasing visibility and readability. When compared, most of the users rated Instagram as easier to send posts to friends. We wanted our designs to be similar enough where sharing a bet felt just as easy as sending Instagram posts.
We increased visibility and readability by:
Containing all contents in a single card
Displaying promotional tags upfront (deals, promotions, boosted odds, etc.)
Displaying the user’s hot streak (consecutive days with a winning slip)
Added a “2nd feed” that only shows a user’s Friends’ bets
Added a Profile section where users can edit their username and profile picture

After some more rounds of feedback, we got rid of the card idea and expanded each bet to the full width of the screen (as Instagram currently does). We didn’t like that there was dead space that just took up room.
Not only did this remove some white space, it also allowed the media to have a bigger footprint.
We also added a banner at the top to advertise the feed itself.
In the latest version, we added a filter to the feed because the average user only bet on a few sports they liked.
We also added a ‘Most Popular Bets’ section that always appears at the top. We did this to push trending and timely bets to users when they open the feed. It’s very popular for sportsbooks to feature packaged betslips and this is our version for now.
We want to test if this leads to more bets placed.

Reply in thread:
We took inspiration from Twitter and Instagram because we thought they display content most effectively and there is an overlap of the types of content displayed.
When we started designing the feed, our top priority was figuring out the most effective way to display critical information — username, caption, media, betslip, CTA.
